Muskies First Ever Black & Gold Scrimmage
Over in Fort Frances, the Muskie football team held their first ever Black and Gold game! This was an inter-squad scrimmage where the Coaches had divided the team up and then had them play against each other. Who won the Black and Gold game? The Players of course! As they got watermelon at halftime and then a BBQ afterwards. I got to speak to one player from the Gold and Black team each.
Ashden played for the Gold team and Medzy was on the Black team, and they are both first year Muskie Football players.
With this being the first year the Muskies have done a Black and Gold game, I asked the two what was the importance of having these scrimmages.
As well as what they look forward to this season.
As for personal goals, I’d say Ashden summed it up best.
Also present at the Black and Gold game was a volunteer referee who was helping working with the kids on understanding the rules. So I asked Medzy about the importance of having a referee there.
I had the opportunity to talk to said referee.
And Medzy had a special message for a special someone.
Which reminds me to also say thank you to all the friends and family who showed up and showed support for your kids on the field.
