(Crosslake, MN) — The National Loon Center in Crosslake is opening the opportunity to be part of their research and connecting the Lakes area with Minnesota’s State Bird with their 2022 Loon Research Ambassador Program.

We recently chatted with National Loon Center Communications and Outreach Coordinator Natasha Bartalotta gave the background of their operation at “The Nest” and their upcoming expansion.

The research being conducted at the National Loon Center, led by Dr. Walter Piper, looks at the loons that make the Whitefish Chain of Lakes area their home.

For those who want to learn more about the National Loon Center and contribute time or effort, the 2022 Loon Research Ambassador Program will give exclusive access with the Loon Guardians and Champions.

Loon Guardians sponsorship level is $1,000 and Loon Champions is $2,500. A $25 donation will make you a Loon Ambassador, which also has its benefits.

The Loon Research Ambassador Program aids in the research and the ultimate goal of opening the Center in 2024.

Learn more about the National Loon Center and the 2022 Loon Research Ambassador Program can be found on their website. Our full conversation with Natasha Bartalotta is also available here:
