North Dakota State B Volleyball Day Three Recap, Langdon Area-Munich wins 6th State Title

CHAMPIONSHIP – Langdon Area-Munich 3-2 (17-25, 23-25, 25-19, 25-16, 15-12) over Medina-Pingree/Buchanan

Langdon Area-Munich reverse swept Medina-Pingree/Buchanan for their sixth championship in program history.

The Cardinals won back-to-back state titles thanks to the block party. Langdon Area-Munich set a tournament record with 32 blocks in the championship and finished with 71 in the tournament. Taya Feist had 12 blocks and finished with 29 over the 3 matches in Bismarck.

Hilary Haaven paced the Cardinals with 23 kills.

Destiny Opp had 17 kills with teammate Brynn Sorenson finishing with 15 kills and 26 digs.

Sorenson was named Senior Athlete of the Year and MPB head coach Jacie Connell was named Coach of the Year.

3RD PLACE – Edgeley/Kulm/Montpelier 3-2 (25-21, 24-26, 25-13, 18-25, 18-16) over Our Redeemer’s

Betsy Huber finished with 12 kills and 9 blocks as EKM won the third place match on Saturday morning from the Bismarck Events Center.

The Rebels finished the season 29-11 overall for their best finish in co-op history as EKM.

Brooklyn Roedocker paced Our Redeemer’s with 21 kills in the loss.

5TH PLACE – Linton-HMB 3-2 (25-17, 20-25, 23-25, 25-18, 15-11) over Flasher

Madisyn Sauter finished 56 assists as Linton-HMB downed Flasher in the consolation championship of the State B Volleyball Tournament on Saturday.

Sauter broke a tournament record with 150 assists in the three matches, surpassing Gracie Schumacher record of 145 back in 2022 for Linton-HMB. The Lions finish 36-5-1 overall.

Flasher finished 32-7-1 overall.

Central McLean 3-1 (23-25, 25-21, 25-20, 25-21) over Surrey

Central McLean picks up a victory at the state tournament after defeating Surrey in four sets on Saturday afternoon at Bismarck High School.

Morgan Snyder had 19 kills and Sally Heger added 13 kills, aided by the 50 assists of Lainy Haraseth for the Cougars. Central McLean finishes the season at 23-11-3.

Mekenzie Neighbors had 13 kills and Camryn Guy finished with 25 digs for Surrey.
