FARGO, ND – Sawyer Owens won his second straight Class B individual title with a third period pin against Brextyn Yanish of Velva at the Fargodome.

Owens won the 139 pound weight class after taking the 133 pound weight class last season for Hillsboro/Central Valley. Owens will have a chance for a three-peat in his senior season.

HCV’s Carson Kozojed finished in fifth place in the 145 weight class and Brayden Chenault finished in sixth place in the 189 weight class.

On the girls side, Taryn Roesler won the first girls state title in program history for Kindred. Roesler won on a 9-4 decision against Charlotte Crowston from Pembina County North.

Anna White became the first every in program history for Central Cass, boys or girls to be a three-time state champ. White beat Brooklyn Lafrenz from Mandan 5-3.
