Northland Arboretum opens nominations for first ‘Environmental Stewardship’ Award

(Crosby, MN) — The Northland Arboretum, in partnership with Cuyuna Regional Medical Center, are now accepting nominations for their first Environmental Stewardship Award, which will recognize the significant contributions to the protection and improvement of the natural resources by the area residents and businesses.
“The award is designed to enhance knowledge and awareness of effective conservation and environmental practices and projects making outstanding contributions to the preservation and protection of community natural resources”, according to Northland Arboretum Executive Director Candice Zimmerman.
Nominations can be submitted by any organization, group, or individual, for those who have demonstrated responsible conservation, land ethics, volunteerism, and dedication to the environment. Categories include community improvement, habitat revitalization, little and debris clean up, grassroots advocacy, and youth education and stewardship. Nominees must reside within the five-county region of Crow Wing, Cass, Morrison, Todd, and Wadena.
Nomination forms are available on the Northland Arboretum’s website. At least one photo of the project, activity, person, or groups should also be included together with supporting information. Email the completed nomination and any attachments to arbdirector@northlandarb.org by April 1st.
