(Crosby, MN) — The Northland Arboretum, recently announced as part of the Arbor Day initiative, will be giving area residents to honor their friends and loved ones with the gift of trees with their Living Tribute program.

As a means of supporting the Arboretum’s mission and conservation efforts, a memorial tree planting will take place with Baxter Mayor Darrel Olson and Brainerd Mayor Dave Badeaux on Saturday, April 30th beginning at 11am. Maple trees with honorary plaques will be planted in memory or honor of individuals and be present for future generations to enjoy.

Trees are available to purchase for $500 each in memory or honor of individuals or in celebrations of birthdays, anniversaries, new births, or other special occasions, and even for pets. Each tree is planted and expertly maintained and cared for by Arboretum staff. For those wanting to have a tree planted in memory or honor of someone, a donation can be made to the Northland Arboretum at www.northlandarb.org. To commemorate the contribution, a certificate and personalized card will be provided to the donor and the party named by the donor.
