Numerous pieces of education legislation coming out of St Paul
The 2026 Minnesota Legislative Session ended earlier this week, and education legislation was a major talking point heading into, and during the session. Win-E-Mac and Ada Borup West Superintendent Aaron Cook says not a lot happened when it comes to education legislation, but they were able to receive some state funds in compensatory revenue.
Cook says one piece of legislation that will benefit taxpayers in the Win-E-Mac School District, is a Seasonal Tax Base Replacement Aid, which will reduce the tax load for full time district residents.
The Minnesota Legislature also passed a bonding bill at the end of session, and Cook is excited to announce that their special education cooperative did receive bonding dollars for a level four facility.
