Ogema Man Sentenced for Terroristic Threats and DWI
An Ogema man has been sentenced in Becker County District Court with felony terroristic threats and gross misdemeanor DWI. Court records say that the defendant Joseph Daniel Schultz, 41 of Ogema MN had driven up to a house and threatened to shoot someone. After the treats were made Schultz sped away with four children in the car.
A police officer then found Shultz driving North and Highway 34 and pulled him over. The officer then found the four children that were in the car with Schultz to not be wearing seatbelts or in child restraints. After a sobriety, and a blood test it was discovered that Schultz had been under the influence of methamphetamine.
On April 26, Schultz appeared before a district judge who then sentenced him with felony terroristic threats and gross misdemeanor DWI charges. Schultz was issued a stay of imposition and was ordered to serve 60 days in jail with credit for 60 days time served for the terroristic threats charge and was also sentenced to a year in jail. Schultz was also placed on supervised probation for 5 years.
