One Dead In Car/Pedestrian Collision Near Mahnomen

MAHNOMEN, MN—The Mahnomen County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that a body was found in a ditch just south of Mahnomen Friday morning….the victim of what appears to be a car vs. pedestrian crash.

A release from the Sheriff’s Office says they received a report of a man lying in the ditch near the intersection of Highway 59 and 160th Avenue, about two miles south of Mahnomen, just after 6:00 A.M Friday.

The victim appeared to have been hit by a car and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The vehicle was located on 160 Avenue north, unoccupied. The driver of the car has been identified and is in custody.

The Minnesota State Patrol and White Earth Police are also investigating the accident.
