One Dead In Police-Involved Shooting In Crookston

CROOKSTON, MN—Crookston Police say they shot a man early Thursday morning after he approached them with a hatchet.  Just before 1am, Crookston Police officers say they encountered a man in the street on East 7th Street…and he was swinging a hatchet.  Police say when they tried to make contact with the man, he started to move toward them.  Less lethal methods were used to subdue the man, but he continued.  The officers then shot him.  They provided life-saving care, but the man died at a local hospital.  The man’s name has not been released; an investigation into this incident is still going on.
