One Dead In SUV/Train Crash

One man is dead after his SUV hit a train Wednesday night northwest of Manvel.  The North Dakota Highway Patrol says a 79-year-old man, whose name has not been released, was westbound on 33rd Avenue NE around 9pm.  At the same time a train in that area was headed south on the railroad tracks.  The SUV struck one of the rail cars and was dragged about one mile to the south and stopped after hitting a railroad crossing tie.  The victim’s name has not been released pending notification of relatives.  The accident is being investigated.
