Parents reminded to talk to kids about the importance of helmets
Spring is here, and kids across the Red River Valley are starting to pull their bikes out of storage. Tina Sanders of Safe Kids Grand Forks reminds parents to make sure their kids are wearing bike helmets that fit properly.
Sanders says it’s equally important for parents to make sure their child is wearing the proper helmet when participating in other wheeled sports like dirt biking and skateboarding.
Lastly, Sanders says it’s important to have a discussion with kids about the increased risk of brain injuries that come when you don’t wear helmets.
