Polk County Sheriff’s Office warns public about scam emails posing as county officials
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office was alerted about a scam on Thursday that is posing as a Polk County Auditor, Treasurer, Recorder, or other officials that are trying to scam residents by requesting payments for tax revenue collection.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office reminds residents to never send callers or emailers you don’t know money or information, and that all Polk County entities will have an email that ends with @co.polk.mn.us.
If you believe you or someone you know were a victim of a scam you are encouraged to reach out to your local law enforcement office. You are also encouraged to report any scams you come across to your local law enforcement office.
