Portland Man Injured In Motorcycle Rollover Accident
PORTLAND, ND—A motorcyclist from Portland was seriously injured in a rollover accident Sunday evening near Portland. The North Dakota Highway Patrol says the accident happened around 6:50pm Sunday in the 600 block of 149th Avenue NE near Portland. An unnamed 36-year-old man from Portland going north on 149th Avenue NE failed to make a left curve in the roadway and overturned the motorcycle. The driver wasn’t wearing a helmet and sustained serious injuries. He was taken by ambulance to Sanford Mayville Medical Center and then airlifted to a Fargo hospital. The accident remains under investigation.
UPDATE: The driver has been identified as 36-year-old Marcus Kvernen of Portland. The North Dakota Highway Patrol says Kvernen is facing a charge of driving under the influence.
