Red Lake Falls music teacher wins state award
RED LAKE FALLS, MN—A Red Lake Falls music teacher has been recognized for her work. Jennifer Wieland recently received the National Federation of State High School Association’s Outstanding State Music Educator Award for Minnesota. It’s an honor Wieland wasn’t expecting.
Wieland tells us why she loves teaching music.
Wieland’s work with her students has also led to several awards for Lafayette High School in Red Lake Falls.
Wieland says she doesn’t know who nominated her for the Outstanding State Music Educator Award, but she thanks that person. And Weiland appreciates the recognition, especially as a rural school music teacher…since she says rural arts departments as a whole don’t get the recognition they deserve.
