Red River Valley: More unique than you think
While it may not seem like it at times, the Red River Valley is one of the most unique landscapes in North America, but due to the flatness of the region, many are unaware of just how big the elevation differences are from one area of the valley to the other. R&J Ag Reporter Nick Revier was at the Red River Watershed Management Board Joint Conference and had the chance to talk with HDR Engineer Nate Dalager who talks more about the unique landscape of the Red River Valley.
One of the unique characteristics of the Red River Valley is of course the Red River of the North, which Dalager says is still rebounding from the Glacier that formed the valley millions of years ago.
Since the Red River flows directly North, Dalager says this also causes issues when it comes to flood control.
