Red River Valley sugarbeet update
The sugarbeet growing season continues to move along, and despite recent storms the sugarbeet crop is continuing to remain resilient. Harrison Webner of the Red River Valley Sugarbeet Growers association says there’s a lot of potential in this year’s crop.
While the crop itself is showing a lot of potential, Weber says they are still facing many challenges in the market.
Weber says they’ve seen a lot of past success in the sugar portion of the farm bill, a bill that has not been signed into law since 2018.
Weber was a guest on the Farm and Field Show, which airs this afternoon from 2:00 to 5:00 on KRJB 106.5 FM.
