Red River Valley Sugarbeet Update
Conditions are very dry across the Red River Valley, and while this has resulted in less cases of root rot in the sugarbeet crop, scouting for root diseases is still important. NDSU Sugarbeet Specialist Dr Eric Branch Explains.
Some producers are also asking whether they need to spray for cercospora leaf spot because of the dry conditions, and Branch says that you should still lay down a fungicide.
Coming up next week on August 11, Branch says they will be having a field day at their prosper research site, and he invites all area producers to attend.
More information on the Prosper Field Day can be seen online at www.sbreb.org.
