Red River Watershed Management hopeful for bonding bill this year
The 2026 Minnesota Legislative Session is in full swing, and the Red River Watershed Management Board is keeping a close eye on legislation potentially coming out of St Paul. Red River Watershed Management Board Director Rob Sip says of the 2,000 bills implemented during the session, they’ve flagged about 50 of them.
Sip says out of all the legislation up for consideration, the RRWMB is hopeful that the legislature can pass a sizable bonding bill.
State funding isn’t the only kind of funding the RRWMB pursues though, as Sip says the board is applying to receive alternative funding for a flood plain modeling project.
