Morrison County Sheriff’s Office Reports Two Snowmobile Accidents

The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office reports that on 2-5-2022 at approximately 5:53 pm, their office received a report of a snowmobile accident on property located off 225th Ave, approximately six miles northwest of Lastrup, MN in Ripley Township.  

According to the Sheriff’s Office, 47-year-old Hanna Brandner of Pierz, MN was driving a snowmobile on her property with her 11-year-old granddaughter on the machine with her. The throttle stuck on the snowmobile causing Brandner to lose control and hit a parked vehicle in the yard. Brandner and the 11-year-old juvenile female were transported to St. Gabriel’s Hospital by Mayo Clinic Ambulance with unknown injuries.

The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Pierz First Response Team and Mayo Clinic Ambulance.

The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office reports that on 2-4-2022 at approximately 12:46 pm, their office received a report of a snowmobile accident with injuries on the snowmobile trail located off 330th Street, approximately six miles south of Motley, MN in Scandia Valley Township.  

According to the Sheriff’s Office, 55-year-old John Jasinski of Faribault, MN and 38-year-old Mark Johnson of East Grand Forks, MN were driving snowmobiles traveling west on a trail that runs along 330th Street. Jasinski was traveling in front of Johnson and they approached an area in the trail where it came to a 90-degree left turn. In the turn, Johnson rear-ended Jasinski causing Jasinski to be thrown off the snowmobile. Jasinski was transported to Staples Hospital by Mayo Clinic Ambulance with unknown injuries. Johnson was not injured.

The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the MN DNR, Scandia Valley Fire Department, Scandia Valley First Response Team and Mayo Clinic Ambulance.
