Last week the Minnesota Senate released their bonding bill target, which came in at $1.35 billion. The funds from a bonding bill would then get spread across the state to help fund infrastructure projects. The Red River Watershed Management Board is seeking $48 million in funds to help fund flood mitigation and water storage problems, and its Executive Director Rob Sip gives his reaction to the bonding bill numbers coming out of St Paul.

There’s expected to be a lot of competition for bonding bill funding this year, and Sip tells us what kind of projects the RRWMB will be competing with for funding.

The RRWMB is currently working on dozens of flood mitigation and water storage projects across the state, but with funding expected to be minimal the board will have to prioritize projects. Sip tells us what RRWMB projects will be priorities for this round of funding.

The three bonding targets released by the Minnesota Legislature include $887 Million from Governor Walz, $1.35 billion from the Minnesota Senate, and $700 million from the Minnesota House of Representatives.
