Rydell and Glacial Ridge holding special deer hunts this week

The 2025 Fall Deer Gun season isn’t until next month, but the Rydell and Glacial Ridge Wildlife Refuges will both be full of deer hunters this weekend. Refuge Manager Gregg Knutsen says Rydell will be hosting its annual Accessible Hunt this week, which he tells us more about. 

While Rydell will be closed to the public over MEA break, Knutsen says the Glacial Ridge Refuge will be open to area youth hunters, for the Statewide Minnesota Youth Hunting Season.  

If hunting isn’t your thing, Knutsen says you can also visit the refuge to partake in some other recreational activities like hiking, as long as the refuge isn’t closed due to special events like accessible hunting.
