Senate GOP criticizes Walz Campaign over OLA’s findings into Feeding Our Future
Minnesota Senate Republicans held a press conference on Thursday morning to respond to the report released by the Office of the Legislative Auditor (OLA) regarding the Minnesota Department of Education’s (MDE) oversight in the Feeding Our Future Fraud case that saw $250 Million stolen from Minnesota taxpayers and the children who were supposed to get help from the program. Senator Mark Koran reviews some of the findings in the report done by OLA.
Senator Koran says the finding also found that MDE lacked administration direction and that the scam could’ve been caught if MDE “simply followed federal guidelines and laws.”
After Senator Koran’s review, Senate Minority Leader Mark Johnson criticized the Walz administration for their handling of fraud across a number of programs, and called for Governor Walz to hold his Commissioners accountable.
The full press conference reviewing OLA’s finding can be seen on the Minnesota Senate Media Services YouTube page.
