Shelly Grain Elevator Fire Update
SHELLY, MN—Here’s an update to a story R&J News has been following. Firefighters remain on the scene where the Shelly Grain Elevator was destroyed by a fire early this morning. Norman County Public Information Officer Liz Brainard has the latest information.
US Highway 75 has been closed through Shelly since this morning. Brainard was asked when the highway might re-open to traffic.
Shelly residents were evacuated this morning and shelters were set up. Brainard says the shelters are now closed.
Brainard also says there has been a drop in water pressure in Shelly.
Brainard also thanked the 22 agencies that helped put out the grain elevator fire, as well as the Red Cross and local farmers who brought water to Shelly to help the firefighters.
