Shots Fired Near Twin Valley
A Moorhead man is facing charges after shots were fired in Norman County last Friday night. According to the criminal complaint, a vehicle was driving at high speeds and shots were being fired out the window at 370th Street near Twin Valley. The complaint goes on to say the vehicle stopped at a Twin Valley residence and two men ran toward the home. There were reportedly spent shell casings inside the vehicle. When questioned by law enforcement, the passenger in the car, who has been identified as Austin Martinson, stated that Tyler Swenson was the driver and he was shooting a 9 millimeter gun. Martinson admitted consuming alcohol, but couldn’t speak for Swenson. Swenson told law enforcement he’d been drinking a few hours ago, had shot a few rounds and that Martinson was the driver. Swenson went on to say that he and Martinson were both shooting off rounds. Deputies say Swenson had bloodshot, watery eyes and smelled of alcohol. During another interview while in custody, Swenson admitted he and Martinson both consumed alcoholic beverages, shot off 10 to 15 rounds and took turns driving. Swenson has been charged with Intentional Discharge of Firearm That Endangers Safety of Others, Carrying or Possessing a Pistol without Permit in a Public Place, Carrying a Pistol While Under the Influence of Alcohol, and Fourth-Degree Driving While Impaired.
