Some crop damage expected in Red River Valley sugarbeet crop

Weather across the Red River Valley has been all over place, and some producers are worried about the effect this may have on their crops. American Crystal Sugar crop manager Justin Kreig tells us what he’s seen for crop damage after the recent hot and windy temperatures. 

Temperatures are expected to be a lot cooler over the next couple days, and Kreig tells us if producers should be worried about cold shock in their beet plant. 

Krieg says there have been some issues with the recent high winds as well, but he says that a lot of producers have taken steps to prevent the blowing of top soil.
