Suspect Arrested In String Of Burglaries
FERGUS FALLS, MN—Law enforcement in Otter Tail County say they’ve arrested a man in a string of burglaries. 38-year-old Christopher Daniel Yost of Fergus Falls is charged with four counts of second degree burglary, according to a criminal complaint filed in Otter Tail County. Three of those charges involve homes near Fergus Falls, Underwood and Clitherall with the fourth involving a church in Vining. According to the complaint, a homeowner near Underwood received an alert from his Ring camera around 2:30am this past Monday. The camera showed a man approaching his unoccupied, for sale home and tampering with the camera before it went offline. Deputies responded and found a broken door frame, but it wasn’t clear if anything had been taken. Investigators matched the man in the camera footage to Yost using his driver’s license photo and body camera footage from a traffic stop a few days earlier. The complaint also ties Yost to a burglary at Vining Lutheran Church on October 1st. A debit card with Yost’s name was found at the church. Deputies stopped Yost’s vehicle this past Monday in Fergus Falls. According to the complaint, he was wearing the same clothing seen in the Ring camera video. A search of Yost’s vehicle turned up burglary tools and items said to be taken in the Underwood burglary. Yost is in custody in the Otter Tail County Jail.
