Suspicious Drone Sighted In Buxton City Limits
The Buxton City Council met in regular session Wednesday evening.
During the meeting, a Buxton resident formally informed the council of a suspicious drone sighting recently around his property. Mayor Travis Soderberg describes the incident.
Prior to the regular business, the council held its Tax Equalization Meeting. Traill County Assessor and Deputy Director of Tax Equalization, Michelle Mooney, presented at the meeting. After input from several residents, the council approved a reduction in the weighted assessment from the standard “one” to a “0.95”. Soderberg explains the reasoning behind this adjustment.
Sorderberg encourages residents to reach out to the City if they feel their property has been assessed incorrectly.
In other business, the council approved a $300 donation to the Central Valley FBLA chapter to support three students who qualified for the National Leadership Conference this summer. Soderberg also gave an update on planned fiber optic work through the city by Halstad Telephone Company and informed the council that the spring clean up date is scheduled for Saturday, May 4th.
