The ABLE Games comes to Hillsboro
Friday, March 6th at 2pm, the ABLE Games come to Hillsboro Public School for the first time. The ABLE Games are run by TNT Kids Fitness and Gymnastics in Fargo and provide a platform for athletes with disabilities to compete and pair with neuro-typical students. Hillsboro Public School Principal Carly Theis explains more of what the games will bring.
30 teams will compete for Hillsboro and go against other school as the ABLE Games come through other locations. The winner will receive $1,000 towards their Physical Education program and some students will have the chance to win scholarships.
Each team will compete in 4 events that count toward the overall scores. A shuttle run, dumbbell shoulder press, air squats, and seated Russian twists. Theis voices her excitement of the connection the event can build in the student body.
The games are open for the public to watch, with the games starting at 2pm sharp at the Hillsboro Event Center gym.
