Three Class ND Basketball

During an interview on Wednesday’s YourLiveEvent.com Coaches Show, Fargo Oak Grove Athletic and Activities Director Brent Wolf talked about the three class setup that’s been in place for boys and girls basketball over the past two seasons.  Specifically, Wolf talked about the success points formula that could allow teams to move up a division.

The boys basketball teams from Devils Lake and Kindred earned enough success points to move from Class A to Class AA; while the boys basketball teams from Minot Bishop Ryan and Westhope-Newburg could have moved from Class B to Class A.  And in girls basketball, Devils Lake and Valley City could have moved from Class A to Class AA.  The NDHSAA decided to keep those teams where they are for the 2025-26 school year.  Wolf talked about the possible movement of teams.

Wolf also points out that with volleyball in North Dakota moving to a three class system like basketball’s, there could be teams accumulating points quickly looking to move up to a higher class.  You can watch our interview with Brent Wolf on the Your Live Event page on YouTube.
