RELEASE FROM LAKES AREA MUSIC FESTIVAL:

Another spectacular season of the Lakes Area Music Festival takes the stage with its annual fundraiser, scheduled for Friday, July 29 at 8 p.m. in downtown Brainerd’s Gichi-ziibi Center for the Arts. Tickets are now on sale for Gala: Forbidden Love. The timeless story of enraged rivals and forbidden love will feature Broadway stars Andrea Ross and Ryan Vona.

As LAMF’s largest fundraiser of the year, this event will include pre-event dinner packages, a live auction, and opportunities to support the hundreds of artists and scores of programs that bring world-class music to the Brainerd Lakes Area. Tickets are available at lakesareamusic.org and range from $50-$150.

Soprano, Andrea Ross began her career in her hometown of Boston before catching the attention of legendary Broadway composer, Andrew Lloyd Webber, who became her mentor and took her under his wing. Andrew Lloyd Webber and Universal Music Group: Classics and Jazz, produced Andrea’s solo album, Moon River, which debuted on the Top 50 UK Charts.

Another Boston-born artist, tenor Ryan Vona, is a New York-based actor, singer, and musician. Vona’s Broadway credits include Once (Andrej), Cirque du Soleil’s Paramour (Joey, Original Broadway Cast) and Beautiful: The Carole King Musical

“Every year, our gala celebrates the community of LAMF,” said festival artistic and executive director, Scott Lykins, “including not only the amazing artists that flock here from around the world, but the supporters, audience members, and volunteers who make their work possible.”

Founded in 2009, the Lakes Area Music Festival is a 501(c)(3) non-profit. The 2022 season will bring 180 artists from around the world to participate in, chamber music, symphonic repertoire, opera, outreach, and education. The renowned series runs July 29 through August 21.

Accessibility is at the heart of LAMF’s mission; therefore, season tickets are offered using a name-your-price model to ensure that financial means are not a barrier to enjoying world-class live performances.
