Tom Lehman helps launch ‘A New Legacy’ at Cragun’s Legacy Courses

Minnesota’s own Tom Lehman was on hand to open ‘A New Legacy’ at Cragun’s Resort Legacy Courses Tuesday. The day started with a press conference with Lehman, Scott Pritchard, VP of PGA Tour Americas and Jamie Tatge, President of Leisure Hotels and Resorts which recently bought Cragun’s after 80 years of ownership by the Cragun family.
Tom was asked what started the process to have the Tom Lehman Design Group help renovate the Legacy Courses.
Regarding the redesign, Lehman was asked about the challenge of constructing a course that fits the usual golfers visiting Cragun’s combined with difficulty for top tier golfers and those that participate in the PGA Tour America’s CRMC Championship held at Cragun’s in August.
Pritchard was simply ‘Why Brainerd?” for a PGA Tour Americas (a merger from PGA Tour Canada and PGA Tour Latino) event.
Tatge commended Dutch on the 80 years of outstanding service to the community and visitors of Cragun’s over the years, and mentioned that the vision with the new ownership group is to put Cragun’s at the top of the list in the midwest for destinations. He said the new Legacy Courses will certainly be an asset.
Lehman was then asked about the characteristic differences of the Dutch 27 and Lehman 18.
Lehman then ceremoniously started off a round of golf with a tee shot from competition tee box on Dutch White #1.
