Two Rescued From Lower Rice Lake

White Earth Police rescued two people from Lower Rice Lake Wednesday morning.

Police say they have responded to several incidents, involving lost individuals in the area, in the past 24 hours. Police weren’t able to find the missing people using drones, loud speakers and other search methods.  They were found with an airboat later, near State Highway 200. The two were taken to local care facilities with non-life threatening injuries and cited for violating ricing regulations as non-tribal members.  Police say they deploy the airboat as a last resort, since it damages the wild rice.
