UMN Crookston SAAC to Host 9th Annual Trunk-or-Treat Event

The University of Minnesota Crookston Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will host its ninth annual Trunk-or-Treat event on Wednesday, Oct. 28. The family-friendly Halloween celebration is scheduled to run from 6:00 to 7:15 p.m., or until supplies run out, along the UMC Campus Mall. The event is free and open to all members of the public, with event parking designated in the Kiehle Building lot directly west of the campus mall.

Organized by SAAC’s roughly 55 student-athletes, the annual tradition brings together Golden Eagle athletics and campus groups to offer a fun, safe trick-or-treating environment for local families. Participating athletic programs and student clubs are invited to deck out one vehicle per team and distribute treats directly from their decorated trunks. Nearly all of Minnesota Crookston’s 16 athletic programs will be on hand handing out candy alongside various campus organizations.

The event aims to build upon last year’s strong turnout, which saw more than 450 young trick-or-treaters navigate the campus mall while interacting with over 30 UMC athletic programs and student clubs. Featuring team spirit, Halloween decorations, and even a costumed mascot, the event serves as a central fall gathering for both the university campus and the surrounding Crookston community.
