US House Wants Information From MN Education Dept. On Feeding Our Future
What’s going on over there? That’s what Minnesota 7th District Congresswoman Michelle Fischbach is asking. She’s one of seven Republicans in the US House who have written a letter to Minnesota Commissioner of Education Willie Jett asking for details on the Feeding Our Future scam. You’ll remember over $250 million in COVID relief money was sent to the Minnesota-based Feeding Our Future non-profit with the idea it would be used to feed needy children. But no children were fed. Fischbach and the other lawmakers are asking Jett to turn over emails, texts and other communications between the Minnesota Department of Education and organizations the House Workforce Committee believes may have information that would assist its ongoing investigation. The US Attorney has charged 70 people associated with Feeding Our Future in connection with the fraud. Last week, five of them were found guilty of crimes associated with the case. 18 others have pleaded guilty.
