VA Layoffs having minimal effects on local veterans service offices 

Since Donald Trump took office this past January, government agencies across the United States  have reported a large amount of employee layoffs. The Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs is one of these agencies and this has left many veterans and their families with questions on how that will affect them. Polk County Veterans Service Officer Kurt Ellefson says the VA layoffs have had no effects on his office so far. 

While he hasn’t seen any negative effects yet, Ellefson says he has seen some positive changes made when it comes to veterans compensation claims.
