Victim in fatal Norman County Crash identified
Minnesota State Patrol identified the teenager who was killed in a two vehicle crash in Norman County on Monday night, as 17 year old Cody Martin Prestegord of Gary Minnesota.
At approximately 5:30 PM emergency responders responded to a two vehicle accident near the intersection of Highway 200 and 420 St. in Eastern Norman County.
A Kenworth Semi driven by 76 year old Jerry Alfred Wang of Winger, MN was headed Eastbound on Hwy 200, when a Chevy Impala driven by Prestegord collided with him head on. Wang’s semi caught fire but he was able to exit the vehicle sustaining non life threatening injuries. Prestegord was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
Prestegord was a Senior at the Norman County East School District where he was recently voted as their Snow Daze King. Classes at the Norman County East School District are in session today, but outside services have been called in to consult students and staff.
