Voting open for Minnesota Name a Snowplow Contest
Voting is now open for the 2023-24 Name a Snowplow contest. The Minnesota DOT says the top eight vote-getters will become MnDOT snowplow names with one new name for each MnDOT district.
Voting will remain open through Sunday, January 28, and Individuals will be able to vote once and select up to eight of their favorite names.
Some plow name finalists include names like.
- Barbie’s Dream Plow
- Clark W. Blizzwald
- Dolly Plowton
- Fast and Flurrious
- L’Plow du Nord
- SKOL Plow
- Taylor Drift
The MnDOT says they received over 8,000 name submissions in December. MnDOT staff reviewed the suggestions and selected 50 finalists for public voting. The agency considered a variety of factors, including uniqueness, frequency of submissions, Minnesota-specific ideas, and names that would be easily identifiable and understandable to most audiences.
Winning names will be announced in late January on the Minnesota DOT social media pages. A full list of finalists can be found at www.dot.state.mn.us/nameasnowplow.
