Walz, Kupec Visit Dilworth Fire Station
DILWORTH, MN—Bond money approved by the Minnesota Legislature played a key role in constructing a new fire station in Dilworth, and there’s a push in St. Paul for a bonding bill to pay for similar projects this session. State Senator Rob Kupec of Moorhead was in Dilworth Wednesday as Governor Walz met with local leaders at the fire hall construction site.
The fire station and community center were in the same building north of Highway 10 for 40 years. Dilworth is using sales tax money to build a new community center in the rail district on the city’s east side. The voter-approved sales tax is expected to bring in more than six million dollars over 25 years.
