Waubun School hosting celebration event for teacher of the year recipient John Short 

This Sunday the Waubun school will be hosting a celebration gathering to honor MREA Teacher of the Year recipient and Waubun science teacher John Short, and celebrate this major accomplishment. R&J News had the opportunity to catch up with Short, who shared his thoughts on receiving this award. 

While he is very honored to be given this award, Short said this award is more of a testament to the great work that’s been done by the staff, administration, and students at Waubun over the years. 

Waubun Superintendent Jordan Spaeth has a unique perspective on Short, as he not only had the opportunity to work alongside him, but he also had him as a teacher in Highschool. To give a better understanding of the kind of teacher Short is, Spaeth tells us a story of when he took his first class taught by Short. 

Finally Spaeth invited the community to join them in celebration with Short this Sunday.
