Waubun Teen Dies In Rollover Crash

WAUBUN, MN—We have more details about a fatal accident near Waubun Tuesday morning.  Mahnomen County Sheriff Josh Guenther tells R&J News it happened at 8:26am on 310th Street, northeast of Waubun.  Responding officers saw a pickup truck lying on its side on the road.  The driver, 17-year-old Cash Tibbets of Waubun, was lying on the road and was pronounced dead at the scene.  An investigation showed Tibbets was driving at a high rate of speed on the gravel road while trying to make a curve and lost control.  He was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from his pickup.
