Weird and Wacky Wednesday
A new species of skunk is showing that there is no limit to how bizarre Mother Nature can be.
Americans, meet the new polka-dotted, hand-standing spotted skunk. This black skunk, with white polka dots instead of the usual white stripe down the back, is also unique from other types of skunks in that they do a front handstand to shoot out a blast of their toxic smell. In other words, if you happen to come across one of these polka-dotted animals, and you see both of their hind legs up in the air, you might be too late. Scientists say these skunks can be found in the U.S. but their numbers are in decline.
