“Weird and Wacky Wednesday” 5-3-23
A restaurant in Maine was expecting a shipment of mugs, but instead received a shipment of drugs. However, it did ultimately result in a mug shot. A wooden crate was dropped off at Mac’s Grill in Auburn, Maine and workers assumed it was the new mugs they had ordered. But when they opened it, they found a large amount of what they believed to be drugs. They looked at the shipping label which had the correct address but the name of someone who doesn’t work there. Police were called and a test of the contents confirmed it was synthetic Fentanyl — 31 pounds of it carrying a street value of about $3 million. The drugs were confiscated, and then about an hour later, the man whose name was on the shipping label, showed up at the restaurant looking for the package. 41-year-oldĀ Jeremy Mercier, who previously did time on federal drug charges, was arrested again and charged with drug offenses and for violating bail conditions. He is being held without bail.
