Weird and Wacky Wednesday: “Bumbling Brit tries to Rob Bank”
A bumbling Brit tried to rob a post office by threatening to blow it up, and he may have gotten away with it if it hadn’t been for his awful handwriting. Martin Travers was sentenced last week to four years and 10 months in jail for his plot which failed horribly. Police say he walked into a post office in Birmingham and passed a note over the counter to a cashier. His note demanded money or else he would bomb the office. Unfortunately for him, the cashier couldn’t read his handwriting and kept asking what it said. Travers told her she had 40 seconds to hand over the money, but she also couldn’t understand what he was saying because he had a mask on. Finally, Travers got frustrated, grabbed his note and a small amount of cash, and ran out as the cashier called the police. He was captured a short while later and arrested.
