Weird and Wacky Wednesday: “Six-Year-Old Orders $1,000 Of Food On Grubhub”
In case you need another reminder of why it’s a bad idea to let your young kids use your phone, here it is. Keith Stonehouse of Michigan allowed his six-year-old son Mason to play on his phone before going to bed. A little while later, he received an unexpected food delivery from GrubHub. Then another one. And then another one. A steady flow of shrimp, salads, shawarma, chicken pita wraps, sandwiches, chili cheese fries, and ice cream followed. Little Mason ordered about $1,000 worth of food. The credit card company even grew suspicious and declined a $400 pizza order. Keith says he had a talk with Mason to explain what he did and why it was wrong, and all Mason could say is, “Dad, did the pepperoni pizzas come yet?” Mason’s parents say it will be a while before he gets his phone privileges back. In the meantime, they saved some of the food and shared a lot of it with friends and neighbors. Mason’s parents took the money from his piggy bank, leaving him with a penny instead of 115-dollars and Grubhub has given Keith a thousand-dollar gift card.
