What to do and not to do at a traffic stop
Being pulled over for a traffic violation is a stressful situation for drivers and police officers alike as both parties are unsure of what is going on at the other end of it. Polk County Sheriff Jim Tadman was in the studio to discuss the do’s and the don’ts to make the stop go as smooth and efficient as possible. One of the first topics he discussed was pulling over when an officer has their lights on behind you and how/where you should pull over.
Tadman says there are some things you can do to make the traffic stop safer and quicker for you and the police officer pulling you over. He also explained what you can expect during the stop.
While there are some things you can do to make the stop a better experience Tadman says there are just as many things to avoid doing at a traffic stop as well.
