What will CWD testing look like in Northwest Minnesota this year?
Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) testing has been a major topic of discussion during the Minnesota deer hunting season the last few years, but for hunters in Northwest Minnesota, the 2026 deer rifle season will look very different from past years. DNR Wildlife Manager Rob Baden explains.
While mandatory testing won’t be a thing this year, Baden says hunters can still have their deer tested if they would like.
Baden says there are also new feeding rules that hunters need to be aware of this year.
More information on CWD testing and hunting regulations can be seen on the Minnesota DNR website at dnr.state.mn.us.
