White Earth Nation Primary Election Results 

White Earth nation held their Primary Election yesterday. The only seat that was on the primary ticket was the Chairperson, a position currently held by Michael Fairbanks. The candidates running for chairperson were Michael Fairbanks, Eugene “Umsy” Tibbetts, Donovan Burnette, and Karen Mannypenny. 

Per White Earth Nation election rules, if a candidate receives 50% or more of the vote in the primary they automatically win the seat, but if a 50% threshold is not met the top two candidates then move on to a general election later in the year. 

The final results from the primary election are: 

Michael Fairbanks 658 Votes (46.21%) 

Eugene “Umsy” Tibbetts 605 votes (42.49%) 

Donovan Burnette 140 votes (9.83%) 

Karen Manypenny 21 votes (1.47%) 

Michael Fairbanks and Eugene “Umsy” Tibbetts will square off in the general election later this year on June 11.
