Will Mahnomen Be Included In 2006 Bonding Bill?

The Minnesota Senate Capital Investment Committee visited Halstad, Crookston, Moorhead and East Grand Forks this week to tour potential projects that could be included in a 2026 bonding bill.  One place that wasn’t on the committee’s agenda was Mahnomen—which has been trying for years to get state funding for improvements to the city’s hospital.  R&J News asked State Senator Sandy Pappas of St. Paul, the Capital Investment Committee Chair, if Mahnomen could be included in the 2026 bonding bill.

Mahnomen officials have spent a great deal of time and money lobbying State lawmakers to support the Mahnomen Hospital in a bonding bill.  Pappas also pointed out there were two recent years where the State Legislature didn’t pass a bonding bill.
