With summer temperatures here, people reminded about the importance of hydration
Summer weather has already arrived in the Red River Valley, and that means area residents need to be taking the appropriate steps in the prevention of dehydration and heat exhaustion. Kelsey Merkens of Norman Mahnomen Public Health shares some things you should keep in mind all summer long.
Merkens says it’s also important to be aware of the signs of heat exhaustion and dehydration.
The Institute of Medicine recommends that men drink a total of 13 cups of fluid per day, while they recommend that women drink 9 cups of fluid each day.
