Youth Fishing Day at Rydell National Wildlife Refuge July 15th
The Rydell National Wildlife Refuge and the Friends of Rydell and Glacial Ridge Refuges Association will be hosting their sixth annual Youth Fishing Day on the Rydell NWR on Saturday, July 15th from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm. This free event is targeted towards youth age 15 or younger. Anglers age 16 and older must possess a valid Minnesota DNR fishing license to fish on the Refuge. A limited amount of fishing tackle including rods and reels will be available, or youth anglers are welcome to bring their own. The bait will be provided, free of charge and lunch will be provided for all participants. Fishing within the Rydell National Wildlife Refuge is only allowed from shore on the west end of Tamarac Lake. The Rydell NWR is located 3 miles south of Highway 2 between Mentor and Erskine.
